DAY 1
ARRIVAL (22nd December)
The tour group meets in the hotel for an
introduction evening and welcome cocktail depending
on arrival times. (Dinner)
DAY 2
KAYAKÖY / ST NICHOLAS
ISLAND (23rd December)
Today we explore Kayaköy, the abandoned Greek
settlement founded in the 14th Century. Originally
the Lycian city of Karmylassos, the village was
re-established by Greek settlers as Levissi in the
14th century. The 3,500 abandoned houses blanketing
the slopes date to the 19th century and are an awe
inspiring sight. After lunch, a forest drive takes
us to the beautiful Gemiler beach, surrounded
by pine and olive trees. From here we go to
St Nicholas
Island with its ruins of a Byzantine
monastery - St Nicholas was once resident. A
swimming opportunity among the submerged ruins
before returning to the hotel for dinner and
overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 3
DEMRE (24th
December)
To get into the Christmas mood we take a stunning
Mediterranean coastal drive, via the once fishing
villages of Kalkan and Kaş, to
Demre – the village where St Nicholas spent his
last days. Visit the Basilica of Saint Nicholas,
dedicated to the 4th- Century bishop. In the cliff
faces overlooking Demre is the spectacular ancient
city of Myra. Here our guide will point out
the many significant rock tombs. Return to our hotel
for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 4
CHRISTMAS DAY (25th
December)
Merry Christmas! Celebrate Christmas at the
Sea Breeze Apart Hotel. Enjoy a light breakfast and
relax in the morning. In the afternoon a sumptuous
traditional Christmas banquet lunch is served and
entertainment is provided throughout the afternoon.
Late afternoon will be a perfect time to take a
Christmas Day nap before a light buffet dinner with
entertainment. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 5
BOXING DAY (26th
December)
Free morning to recover from Christmas celebrations.
Step into Louis de Berniere’s ‘Birds Without Wings’
country on a late afternoon walk from
Kayaköy
to
Ölüdeniz.(Breakfast,
Dinner)
DAY 6
LYCIAN WAY (27th December)
This morning we drive to the village of Kozağaç
at the base of Baba Dağ Mountain where we commence
our trek via shepherd tracks. We follow the ancient
Lycian Way with the blue Mediterranean on one
side and magnificent Taurus Mountains on the other.
A picnic lunch enroute ensures a relaxed return to
the hotel on foot. Time for a hot scrub & massage in
the Turkish Bath or ‘Hamam’ (extra & optional) – an
authentic, not to be missed experience.(Breakfast,
Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 7
CADIANDA & FETHİYE OLD
TOWN (28th December)
Today we visit the quaint villages of
İncirköy
and
Üzümlü
to see some traditional wooden housing before a
visit to the ancient site of
Cadianda,
with its impressive views from the city walls.
Return to Fethiye where we visit the old city (Paspatur)
for some shopping and see the
Amyntas
Lycian rock tombs overlooking the city. This evening
we have our farewell dinner at our hotel. (Breakfast,
Dinner)
DAY 8
RETURN FLIGHTS (29th
December)
Transfer to Dalaman airport or stay on for optional
2nd week. (Breakfast)
OPTIONAL 2ND WEEK : ( B&B basis plus New
Years Eve dinner & entertainment)
Enjoy a second week in the Fethiye area with many
excursions and activities on offer including
Ephesus & Pamukkale tour, Dalyan tour, horse riding,
quad biking, day walks.
New Years Eve will be lavishly celebrated at Sea
Breeze’s Palms Restaurant with entertainment,
fireworks & lots of partying.
